Lillian's Restaurant
Lillian's Restaurant, built over a century ago, around 1912, displays early features of Georgian and Vernacular architectural style and was declared a National Monument by the Jamaica National Heritage Trust on July 8, 2010 (Jamaican National Heritage Trust, n.d.). Lilian's, one of the buildings from the Farm School, was used as a recreational area and a classroom for third-year students at the Jamaica School of Agriculture. After being destroyed by the 1988 Hurricane Gilbert, the building was restored to include the outdoor stage and the official training restaurant (Sangster, 2011, p.11). Today Lillian's still serves as a training restaurant for Utech students enrolled at the School of Hospitality and Tourism Management. Also, the restaurant offers catering services and serves food to the school population and outsiders ("Restaurant," n.d.).
